Children's Sunday School is open to all children in Kindergarten through the sixth grade.
We are using Godly Play as our curriculum. Godly Play is a Montessori approach for Sunday School
to communicate the sacred stories of Christian scripture. Children get to hear, experience, and respond
to the stories that form the basis of our faith.
Children meet in the Library of the
Middle School Building at 11am on Sundays. If you'd like
to volunteer to teach, or if you would like your child
to participate, please contact Karen or Jeanine. |
Generation
Change for Teens |
St.
James’ Episcopal Church Teens prepare for Generation
Change
Generation Change is an entertaining, informative,
media-driven youth Bible study that shows today’s
students how money really works, how God views money,
and how to grow into responsible young adults who
are ready to embrace all of God’s blessings.
Every day our youth are bombarded with a million different
voices—everything from billboards to internet
ads—telling them who they are and measuring
their worth by what they have. The pressure to be
accepted in today’s stuff-centered world drives
them, and perhaps even their parents, to throw money
away on things that don’t matter—all in
an attempt to “be somebody.” The result?
We’re raising a generation that spends money
they don’t have to buy things they don’t
need to impress people they don’t even like!
It’s time for a change!
Generation Change is designed for teens ages 13-18
or 7-12th graders. Generation Change is taught by
Dave Ramsey via video. A typical class will look like
this: You’ll begin the class with the video
(10-15 minutes) then open the class up for discussion
questions and Bible verses. After the discussion is
over, you’ll then play the second half of the
video (another 5-10 minutes) then engage in activities
that apply to what the teens have learned from each
session.
