St.
James Day
We will commemorate St. James Day with a combined
worship, parish picnic and chorale evensong on Sunday, July 25th.
Worship will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. The picnic
will follow on the campus grounds. The choirs of St. James will
sing a service of Choral Evensong beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The celebration of St. James Day will continue
with a parish picnic following the combined worship service. The
church will provide the main dish - chicken (deep-fried Texas
style) and all picnickers are asked to bring a dish to share that
will complement the entree'. In order to have a smorgasboard,
please bring items asa listed.

potato, green, fruit)
J - N...............................Sides (green beans, rice dishes,
corn ,etc.)

bread, cornbread, biscuits)
W - Z ..................................Drinks & Ice (2 cases
canned drinks and 1 bag of ice)
Please bring menu items prepared and ready to serve 8 - 10 people to the kitchen on the morning of the picnic by 9:30 a.m.
All platters and utensils must be labeled in order for items to be returned after the picnic.

UBE
Mission Trip
The John D. Epps Chapter of the Union of Black
Episcopalians (UBE) in conert with the Diocese of Texas will sponsor
the first annual UBE mission trip and weekend. "Bringing
Mission to Mission" this summer, Friday, July 30th - Sunday,
August 1st, 2010.
The mission trip heads to Galveston to help restore
the St. Vincent's Episcopal House campus, which was severly damaged
by Hurricane Ike in 2008.
Deadline to receive registration is July 23, 2010.
