Our Relationship with God - The Rev. Thomas

"My Name is Hosea" is a first person sermon written and preached by the late Rev. E. K. Bailey. It touches on the challenges of the prophet Hosea's marriage, drawing theological parallels between Hosea's relationship with his wife, Gromer, and our relationship with God. It is one of the most interesting and soul satisfying sermons I have ever heard.

"El Sal Pal's Project"

The youth and children of St. James church and school have embarked on a community service project that is two fold: It helps the greater Houston community and a youth after school program in San Salvador, El Salvador. The project is "El Sal Pal's". The proceeds of this project will provide much needed funds to keep the youth of San Salvador engaged in enriching after school activities. The youth and children of St. James will prepare a snack consisting of a bottle of water, peanut butter crackers and an inspiration message taped together. The snack can be purchased for $2. Instead of giving money to someone in need, this small snack can provide nourishment and inspiration. The message will be hand written by the youth and children. The $2 collected from the sale will then be sent to support the after school youth program in El Salvador. In order to make this project a complete success, we need donations: cases of water and round peanut butter crackers. A collection bin will be available in the narthex for your contributions. Monetary donations are also accepted.
