Baptism
Baptism marks our membership into the Body of Christ, so it is a sacrament celebrated when the other members are present, usually on Sunday mornings. Our liturgical calendar encourages Baptisms to be done on one of the following Sundays:
- The Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (the first Sunday after Epiphany, which is January 6)
- The Great Easter Vigil or Easter Sunday
- The Day of Pentecost (50th Day of Easter); and
- All Saints Day (on November 1 or the first Sunday after)
While these are the preferred days, we know that the ability for loved ones to be part of the celebration may mean selecting another Sunday, so please contact Father Thomas to discuss Baptism for yourself or your child. The Episcopal Church recognizes all Christian baptisms regardless of denomination.
